Karmiel, 11/18/2006On November 18th, The Karmiel Orchestra performed in the "Eshkol Pais" in Karmiel. The orchestra, under direction of Vladimir Shtuckmeister introduced to the audience a new program, which was prepared for the recent tour to France and other countries of Europe. Songs in Yiddish, Hebrew, French and Italian were performed by Julia Masti and Dmitry Pavlychev. A lot of applause received the youngest member of the orchestra 12-years old musician Arie Rabinovich. The concert had a big success and all tickets were sold out many days in advance. The concert was attended by mayor Adi Eldar, vice-mayor Rina Grinberg, general director of municipalitet Khana Koval and heads of municipal departments. In the after-concert speach Rina Grinberg said: "The orchestra exists because of very high professionalism of musicians (all of them have a special musical education) and huge desire to perform. "The Karmiel Orchestra" with pride represents our city in Israel and abroad. It is a pity, that the orchestra does not appear on the "Karmiel Dance Festival". Adi Eldar: "The huge pleasure to be on such evening and to listen to the performance of this orchestra. This is a big cultural event. We shall continue to help an orchestra. That is a great honor to our city to have such orchestra. Many thanks to you." |

Our musicians represented city at festival «Mirabelle» in a twin-city Metz.. An orchestra have joined the opera singer Julia Masti and the singer Dmitry Pavlychev. Orchestra performed in many cities of France — Merly, Nancy, Luneville, Luxembourg, Paris. In all cities where they came with concerts, local Jewish communities accepted them intimately and very benevolently. The special accent to performances was given just with the ended war which have imposed to Israel. Support of Jews of France was felt in all. And music fastened old communications and did by their closer. The repertoire was the diversified. It both the Jewish music, and kleizmer music, both classics, and a jazz. Singers sang songs in the most different languages - on a Yiddish, in a Hebrew, Italian and Russian. 12-years old Arie Rabinovich, the young balalaika-virtuoso was in headings of all newspapers left in those days in these cities. The most grandiose concerts have passed, certainly, in the city of Metz in huge Palace of the Culture and in the local big synagogue at confluence of the most dear people of city, including not only Jews. Concerts passed within the limits of annual " Days of the European and Jewish culture ". The mayor of Paris, and also the main rabbi of the city and the Israeli ambassador in France attended the concert in Paris. People costing welcomed skill of musicians from Кarmiel. |

Marly, FranceThe city of Marly had the pleasure of having The Karmiel Orchestra and its master chief from Galilee, Vladimir Shtuckmeister for the Mirabelle festivities. Before their presentation at the Metz, they offer to the Marliens a superb concert, combining light classical music with Israeli folklore, Klezmer music plus jazz and singing. Among the musicians was a 10 years old balalaika player. |

THEY HAVE SUBDUED PARISAbout a half-year ago The Karmiel Orchestra, under direction of Vladimir Shtuckmeister performed in Tel-Aviv for Franch Jewish Community - people who came to Israel from France. There were Lucien - a sponsor from Paris. She met musicians and conductor and decided to make for them a tour to Paris. "It is hard to surprise parisians with classical music, but Yiddish, Hebrew, Russian songs would be a real surprise for them" - said Lucien. Rehearsals started. Every one worked very hard and finally the day of March 12th arrived - the day of the big performance. The most famous theatre in Paris "Theatre des Champs-Elysee" opened the doors in front of "The Karmiel Ochestra". Regardless of up to 1000 Franks tickets, the big hall was packed with audience. Instead of one-and-a-half hour, the concert was running for three hours. All announcements was done in French by Elina Smyck. As always a lot of applause received soloists Leonid Fiks (violin), Alex Vol'man (clarenet), Yakov Ferdman and Dmitry Pavlychev (vocal), virtuoso Michael Pitarov (balalayka). This tour was organized by Rena Grinberg - vice-mayor of Karmiel. The after concert reception for "The Karmiel Orchestra" was organized by Francis - one of the sponsors of this tour and the head of the Jewish Community of Paris. This concert was supported by Embassy of Israel in France. |
